LLT's 50th season will kick off this fall with the hit revue BEEHIVE! THE 60's MUSICAL! Director Wess Hughes will hold auditions at the Arabian Theatre in just TWO WEEKS on September 13th and 14th at 7 pm. The show features 40 of the top pop tunes of the 1960's - the very decade LLT was founded. For further info, you can contact WestHughes@aol.com or 601.428.0140.

Do you remember when hair was hard and life was easy??? Big hair is back and so is the infectious 'shoo-be-do-wop-wop' sound of the 1960's. Take a stage full of wailing women and add 1 hot band, 48 big wigs, 60 costumes, 25 cans of hairspray and more than 40 of the greatest '60's hits, and you get BEEHIVE! THE 60's MUSICAL!

A hit Off-Broadway musical revue of the great tunes of that decade, BEEHIVE! is a high energy parade of pop songs by The Supremes, Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, Connie Francis, The Chiffons, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin and many many others. It has all the fringe, the sequins and the towering hair-dos that marked that decade, and if you see a haze in the air around the Arabian Theatre this fall, it won't be smog. It'll just be...Aquanet.

Director Wess Hughes and Music Director Michelle Howells will have a powerful cast that'll knock your go-go boots off! Start practicing now so you can sing along to "The Name Game"...Shirley, Shirley, bo Shirley, banana fanna fo firley, fee fi mo mirley...Shirley!

Our auditions are usually very laid back and you don't really need to prepare anything. Just come on down and we'll have a simple form you fill in with contact info. Auditioning could be a very scary thing, but we try to keep it as easy-breezy as we can so that newcomers will come join in with us on our productions.

For play auditions, the show director will have everyone read some scenes, but you don't have to show up with any memorized piece to audition with.

For musical auditions, you can sing anything you'd like or we'll just teach everyone a short song to sing together. If you bring sheet music, we'll have an accompanist to play for you. You can prepare a song or just sing 'Happy Birthday' or the National Anthem or an old hymn or you can wait and learn a group song with everyone else.
